# View-Aligned HDRI Lighting
**Blender Add-on to keep studio HDRI lighting aligned relative to the camera/view.**
---
## Overview
This add-on automatically rotates the viewport HDRI lighting so that shadows and highlights stay consistent relative to your camera orientation. It's designed to improve visibility when modeling in **Solid** or **Material Preview** modes, especially for architectural modeling, product design, and BIM workflows.
Unlike physically correct rendering, this add-on is purely for **viewport shading convenience** and does not affect final renders in Eevee or Cycles.
## Features
- Syncs viewport HDRI rotation to camera orientation.
- Adjustable light angle offset relative to camera.
- Works in **Solid** and **Material Preview** modes.
- User-controlled: starts **OFF** by default to avoid startup issues.
- UI toggle and slider for easy control.
## Installation
1. Download `__init__.py` and place it inside a folder named `View-Aligned HDRI Lighting`.
2. Copy the folder into your Blender `addons` directory.
3. Open Blender → **Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Install…** (or manually enable it in the Add-ons list).
## Usage
1. Open the 3D Viewport.
2. Press `N` to open the sidebar → **View** tab → **View-Aligned HDRI** panel.
3. Enable the toggle to start syncing the HDRI rotation.
4. Adjust the **Light Angle Offset** slider to control the default angle of the light relative to the camera.
## Notes
- Does **not** affect final render outputs.
- Designed for viewport shading only.
- Works best for modeling visibility and shadow readability.
